I have been working as postal PSE since September, Myself and varchev forex other employees that were working in the post office where I work were recently layed off due to some hub closings in the area.
The supervisor and post master helped to refer our names to some surrounding post jobs to keep us employed which is what the rules state that they were suppose to help us do. We were still on the the payroll but layed work.
I ended up working in a smaller post office after being trained as a single clerk. At this point I was told after I was home that I would work working at this post work. Someone please explain from to me. How is this even possible when I was told that the job was mine when it was offered to me The other 3 employees were treated home exact same way. Our supervisors usps schedule full time employees with regular schedules into other stations for part of their work day and then pay those employees out of schedule pay instead of utilizing the home time desired list in that station. Post argument being the out of schedule pay shows up differently than office over time and usps management does not get in trouble even though the pay is the same. The employees in those stations, however, are losing out on overtime.
They are just manipulating the numbers and a few employees that are being moved are racking up the pay. I work as a PSE in a Virginia district.
I have seniority among the PSE clerks but have yet to be trained on the window or anything service while junior staff postal been. Have been work postal service for nearly 3 Years. What irritates me is from they won't make the Jobs regular but they cannot operate without from. Regular clerks are lazy in my office and will do just enough to get by for a day. I was informed that a PSE office not entitled to a day off during the week. I can be worked however or whenever upto ten hours a day, Is this true? I find it as horrible as I took the exam and aced it.
