Attic Knee Wall Insulation
For this home in U. City, the homeowner was paying way too much to heat and cool their home. Green Space analyzed the property and recommended a first phase of improvements. This work included blown cellulose attic insulation at R-38, a custom built attic hatch cover, air sealing at attic stairs, and insulation at HVAC ducts.
St. Louis Spray Foam Insulation
Upon inspection, we determined that many of the attic spaces in this home were simply uninsulated or containing inadequate levels of insulation.
As you can see in this “After” picture, we substantially increased the insulation in the attic.
In these open attic spaces, you can clearly see that the insulation did not even rise above the floor joists. With only a few inches of insulation, this home had plenty of room for improvement.
Green Space substantially bolstered the insulation in these attic spaces, as you can see in this “After” picture.
Attic access hatches are a common source of heat loss/gain. Uninsulated attic hatches simply allow the hot or cold air to escape through this uninsulated space.
To remedy this issue, Green Space built a custom insulated attic access cover. We used rigid insulation and spray foam to create an insulated hatch that remains operable.
